President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaians to remain hopeful and optimistic, even in the face of challenges.
Speaking at the Chinese Lantern Festival Gala on Sunday February 9, 2025 at University of Ghana sports stadium, President Mahama emphasized the importance of holding onto hope, saying “Even in times of darkness, hope must never be lost.”
The President’s message was well-received by the audience, who were gathered to celebrate the Chinese Lantern Festival. The festival, which is a significant event in the Chinese calendar, symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and the importance of family reunions.
President Mahama’s call to hope comes at a time when Ghana is facing several challenges, including economic and social issues. However, the President’s message is seen as a timely reminder that with hope and determination, Ghanaians can overcome any obstacle.
The Chinese Lantern Festival Gala was attended by dignitaries from Ghana and China, including the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana. The event featured traditional Chinese music, dance, and food, and was a celebration of the strong cultural ties between Ghana and China.
